Vertext
A fast, native browser for the Massive Markdown Matrix.
Vertext is a two-pane browser that speaks Markdown instead of HTML. It’s the reference browser for the Massive Markdown Matrix, a read-only web of linked Markdown documents in the spirit of the original 1991 World Wide Web.
It starts instantly and has no JavaScript, no tracking and no distractions. An index pane sits beside a detail pane, and you get an offline library with full-text search, bookmarks, and light and dark themes. HTML links are handed off to your normal browser.
A 2025 Flutter proof of concept came first. The current version is a native rewrite in C++.
