I’ve spent three decades turning ambitious ideas into working software: award-winning chatbots in the 1990s, the scripting system for Black & White, the AI for L.A. Noire, and R&D at a company later acquired for $100M. These days I also build and ship my own products, like Git Lineage, working alongside AI coding agents.
I love learning new things, and I love explaining them even more. Helping someone understand an idea is one of the most rewarding parts of the job, and it’s what makes me a good mentor. I’ve tutored at the University of Western Australia, given invited conference talks and keynotes, mentored at hackathons and presented internal research talks. I’d love to do more teaching, and I’m open to teaching roles, whether that’s at a university, TAFE or school, at a bootcamp, or inside a company.
